Please help !!! Refunding pending e-cheque

I sold 2 theme park tickets on saturday and the buyer wants them by thursday, however his payment was showing as a pending echeque and expected date to clear was 29th August. I explained I couldn't send the tickets until it had cleared, so the buyer did another paypal payment that went through straight away and I have transferred the money to my account. He has also asked me to refund the original one as he would've paid twice. Do I do this straight away or do I have to wait for it to clear??? Sorry, I've never done this before

Thank you for the reply, I did look on there but it wasn't very clear ... it says I can refund it but as its pending I think the refund would come out of my bank account and what if then his payment didn't clear?? Surely I am just giving him money?? Sorry, I'm just not very technical with this sort of stuff!!

I had this a month or so ago.
What you want to do is cancel a pending echeque, but there is no 'cancel' option. SO you have to refund it. But then you think that I don't want to to actually refund anything I just want to cancel it!
I actually phoned paypal and asked them about it. You need to hit the refund button and follow the procedure and it will cancel the pending echeque. When you have done this then the echeque will show as cancelled.
It's a bit of a leap of faith!.....0 -

Angelcake..it's not like you to say recorded when you mean special delivery.
OP Angel is correct, you need special to guarantee next day delivery and because recorded only covers up to £34 of loss and usually excludes vouchers and tickets as well.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
