Thank you for responding, this is what the telephone advice people said when i spoke to citizens advice this evening, but if you look at the gov.uk site it does not seem to say this information at least from what i could digest. Says that its 30 days if less than 6 months but if my agreement has indeed been renewed then the one month does not apply.

I hope that it is 2 months, which will give me more time to find somewhere else to live. I still need to confirm if the section 33 needs to be given at the same time as the notice to quit.

These people are unbeliverable how they spoke to me the first couple of days is a disgrace. i am considering taking them to court over the deposit as they didn't register it and probably has always been the case with these people.

I also read this a few days ago too.

New landlord legislation will make it tougher to evict tenants as of 1st October I dont know if it affects Scotland too but its for new tenancies.

No that doesn't apply to Scotland it only applies to England and Wales.

If your original 6 month SAT does not say what will happen at the end of the 6 months your tenancy will automatically renew for another 6 months and so on until either party serves notice.

Personally I've always found Shelter Scotland to be better than CAB when dealing with tenancy issues because Scottish housing law is what they specialise in.
