Worth keeping Yorkshire account?

I opened various Yorkshire Bank accounts to get switch incentives but closed all except a single direct account. I dont use it for anything but a few direct debits.
Have recently moved and the local branch only opens when I'm at work.
Not sure it's worth keeping other than to switch out but have used up basically all the switching offers and want to calm down the credit checks unless essential.
Is it only worth keeping as a donor account??

I think it's always good to have a donor account or two, ready for when an offer appears.0

...and you're good to go as soon as one does appear, since you already have some DDs on it. With more and more switch deals demanding DDs, not just some hastily set up SOs, that's a handy place to be!0

Thanks for the insights.
I find their internet banking to be functional but clunky and my original reason for keeping it was the branch access but that is no longer convenient.
I don't think I'll do anymore switching in the near future as I've ran out of banks and want to avoid more credit checks.
I've opened up an N&P account for the free withdrawals and have been pleasantly surprised but the low ATM limit (250) and being outside East Anglia means I only have no branch access. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I was thinking in the same mind. There online banking seems hard work and tbh not really sure they fit with me longterm. I bank with halifax and they seem a lot more viable and i have been with them 10 years. £150 comes in handy and just a pain there online banking seems very poor (ybank)0

Aren't Yorkshire Bank (and Clydesdale Bank) being fattened up by their owners, National Australia Bank to be sold off?
I'm keeping my one remaining current account and have an ISA paying 2% with them so I'm staying and it may be wishful thinking but maybe YB will reward their loyal customers in some way when/if they get taken over?!
Then expect their clunky Internet banking to get a huge upgrade when they are better resourced.0 -

if this will happen at all, it will take years. Deploying a new system, or even just a new front end, is a massive project.Yorkshire_Pud wrote: »Then expect their clunky Internet banking to get a huge upgrade when they are better resourced.0 -
I'll keep it for a donor account as per suggestions on here
Called and they may downgrade it if i dont credit 1000 per month, plus I cant switch to online statements or even quarterly ones. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Erm it's the Yorkshire Bank, not the Yorkshire Building Society!Yorkshire_Pud wrote: »I'm keeping my one remaining current account and have an ISA paying 2% with them so I'm staying and it may be wishful thinking but maybe YB will reward their loyal customers in some way when/if they get taken over?!:cool:0
