Nationwide agree to remove Late Payment marker.

Due to a !!!! up (80% NW fault 20% my fault) with my direct debit whilst switching mortgage product, my payment wasnt made in August. Nationwide didnt inform me and when i discovered the error i rang up to pay it and was informed when i asked that it would be recorded as a late payment with CRA.
Needless to say i was unhappy about this and met a stomewall response of 'policy' 'nothing can be done' etc. After spending 2 hours on the phone with them resolutley making it clear that i would not accept that, that i wanted to escalate it to a formal complaint and i believe crucially making it clear that i only wanted to exhaust their complaints system so i could then complain to the ombudsman they promised to look into it and get back to me.
Call today saying they were sorry and they would remove the marker but that it may take 6-8 weeks to show up.
Yah. (oh and another victory for my position of being nice to people even when complaining. The bloke who sorted it said this went largley towards him sorting it out)

Well done. We've found NWide to be good at this sort of thing. We managed to get some AP markers removed a few weeks ago.Grateful to finally be debt free!0
