Found this deal on net whilst looking for electric blankets my partner and disabled daughter. Both feel cold.
These keep you warm whilst watching tele perhaps not have heating on a bit longer they pay for themselves
They £95+ on Amazon, Lakeland but see them at Boots for £58. They also washable and cost very little to run they claim 1p for 3 hours but that's at 2012 price
Also can get cashback on top at tcb but only 1-2%

Are they safe nowadays? I remember years ago they were seen as a fire hazard.
I would love to get one of these as with my illness I really feel the cold when the rest of the house doesn't!0 -

Today, electric blankets have several independant safety mechanisms.
However, these can be defeated if very old, or mistreated.

As an alternative, two or three hot water bottles, wrapped in towels to keep them hot can keep a bed toasty for a long time.0 -
We got one of these for my husband as he has heart problems and feels the cold. It is lovely and washes well as the electrics all detach was well worth buying. It is furry on one side and fleecy on the other.Weight loss since 6/01/2014: 70lb0

The teddy bear fluffy blanket/throws from Dunelm Mill, which come in a large colour range, are really cosy and warm.
Single bed size is £9.99, double £19.99, but I just bought two singles for £4.49 each, as the cardboard band was missing. There is also a child size for £6.99.
I have had two heated pads and one heated cushion (from Lidl), but, used them often and found they wore out before the 12 month warranty was up. They could also become too hot for someone with reduced sensation or unable to alter the thermostat for themselves.0 -

Electric blankets are a much gentler heat over a larger area.
It takes a _LOT_ of blankets to get an equal heat to an electric blanket - and it is a lot more sweaty and takes a lot longer to heat up.0 -

I need heat in one spot ie on my spine, so a larger heated area would make me too warm. Therefore I have a heat pad(when I can get one; due in Lidl this week) and my fluffy throw.0
