Landlord Insurance - recommendations and advice please
We are renting out a property unfurnished. We were going to go with Saga http://www.saga.co.uk/insurance/home-insurance-products/landlord-insurance.aspx I know they said they do legal cover but I would have thought I would need public liability cover in case someone hurt themselves at the property and couldn't see it highlighted in that one? Anything else I really should have?
I should mention that, due to !!!! ups the agent made during the process of renting they are giving us a rent guarantee scheme for free but I believe the £50000 legal cover would relate directly to items arising eg going to court for unpaid rent etc
If you have an all encompassing cover you could recommend it would ease the headache I have given myself.
Thank you

Compare companies in the usual way ie
* premium (cheapest company will depend on specific circumstances eg postcode, number of rooms etc, so no one company is always cheapest)
* policy. Different companies include/exclude different things, and have different levels of excess etc
however nearly all will offer public liability (read the policy documents). Other things to look for which might be optional or extras would be malicious damage by tenants, legal cover, accidental damage etc
Some Buildings policies for LLs include £5K of contents cover, useful to cover fitted carpets and white goods.
But as said, always read the policy document.0 -

I went with simply business, they include alot of extras & added on home emergency cover for £65.
I noticed there is a refer a friend where we get both get £25 each. If anyone is interested in that pls pm me. All we need to do is swap surnames & policy no & there's no maximum amount of times we can claim this!!!No one said it was gonna be easy!0 -
