Google Finance quotes don't work with BlackRock, L&G

I have a Google Sheet to track holdings. It works fine with e.g. Vanguard funds, for example

=GOOGLEFINANCE("MUTF_GB:VANG_US_EQUI_1NU5XTO")

returns the latest price.

With BlackRock and L&G funds, it just returns zero, e.g.

=GOOGLEFINANCE("MUTF_GB:BLAC_NORT_AMER_QI3BCH") .

Any fix for this? Don't really want to have to use Excel.

    I don't think there is a fix. Google Finance has always been missing some funds and has been like that for years.

    Of the 10 funds (none of which are exotic) in my HL portfolio, Google has them all listed but has live pricing for 5 of them.
  • Guess so, thanks. I see there are ways of doing it with Google Apps Scripts and other sources such as Yahoo Finance. Might be a little project for me to try.

    I also use Google Finance and was missing one stock price for ages. I repeatedly used "Report a problem" to moan about it and eventually the price appeared. Although looking at how it's now doing I wish I hadn't bothered!

    You could try and use personal finance software such as BankTree or AceMoney. They all offer various sources for equity prices.

    Even the download into MS Money will still work, I believe, if with some small add-on that gets mentioned on here from time to time.

    I had the same problem with a BlackRock tracker, Sod's law that it was the last fund I added to my portfolio only to discover it didn't work and so distorted the entire portfolio analysis. Eventually I upon a Reddit post (that I can no longer find) that explained how to grab table data from Morningstar etc. using the =importhtml function in Google Sheets. For example, this function gets the most recent price for the BlackRock Global Property Securities Equity Tracker D Acc:

    =index(split(index(importhtml("http://www.morningstar.co.uk/uk/funds/snapshot/snapshot.aspx?id=F00000OJRZ&"&year(now())&month(now())&day(now())&hour(now()),"table",12), 2, 3), " "), 1, 2)

    You have to play around with the table # and row/column #s until you find the data you want as it won't be the same for every fund page.

    The MorningStar data can be slow to load though, maybe due to their interstitial adverts and I haven't bothered trying with different data sources since I find it easier to use MorningStar's free portfolio tracker.
