Safety stamp on toughened glass?

If I purchase single sheets of toughened glass from a glazing company to replace single-paned float glass, should I ensure there is some sort of safety mark (i.e. British Standard mark, Kite Mark etc) etched/stamped on the panes?

Was just wondering if such a mark is required to ensure the glass complies with regulations.

Thanks!

Whenever I have had safety glass installed, it has always been marked as such. Even on 15 pane internal glass doors - each small pane has been marked.
Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.
  • On small panes its best to ask for a "line logo" rather than the EN type kite mark. The line logo is more discrete... You don't have to get them all stamped .If I make a door that has a number of panes I just ask for one of them to be stamped. The building inspector will be able to tell if a pane is toughened or not without seeing a stamp.
