We find out on 5th October if we have permssion to build. It will be passive.
To add some substance to my previous post I had wanted timber, but OH did not want this!
Jeldwen and Premdor were first ports of call, but I rapidly gave up. That pushed me towards the shady manufacturing using low cost labour in Poland. You may be a fan of this, but I dismissed this. Vague, smoke and mirrors, questionnable quality, suitability for the UK climate...I will not go on.
Then I considered aluminium but the manufacturers are not geared up and competitive . I lacked confidence in what I saw.
Which pushed towards pvcu. Yes it is a cheap and nasty product, but it does have merits. I concede that the super manufacturers are well geared up to meeting the reqirements of the UK market. The problem is that they are driven by price, not quality, nor inovation. But in their defence this is because UK consumers, as a general rule, could not care less about such issues.0
