I have done a clean install of windows using an ISO disc but can connect to the internet
I know I have to download and install a driver but which one I am unsure as to where on device manager to look so I can post a screen print I did before starting to do the install.
thanks
Niall

  • If it's Windows 10, chances are drivers are already included.
If not then, then you can download it from the following link.
    http://downloads.dell.com/network/R296457.exe

  • I don't think so.
As it's a driver for network card, which is used in many computers. Mostly in Dell.
Give it a try. And let us know.
  • Windows Update will not always include the right drivers for your setup, as there are so many possible combinations and different hardware.

Try the Dell one suggested, and if that does not work, let us know and I will find you the correct driver. I have a few tools that I use.

downloaded and unzipped then I opened the C:\Dell\Drivers\R296457
in the search box and doubled clicked on the "setup" application and everything seems to have worked
BUT the SM Bus Controller still has the yellow tag on it and I tried the update driver bit, it didn't work
    What have I done wrong?
Thank you for all your help
