I'm in the don't care gang. Maybe I used to care but I haven't for a long time.
The thing about discussing who starts a new thread is that it always used to cause disagreements in itself. It became a bit of a competition and got quite nasty at times.
I don't know what the solution is or even if there is one. I do know that the reasons why people stay away won't change no matter who starts a thread.

I don't care who starts a thread. I think the thread discussions always lead to the same old regular posters starting thread after thread.. anyone should be able to start a thread.
I appreciate you said you were in a rush, but you say some posters have prejudices regarding who starts the thread and stay away when they do not approve of the starter .
So, in order to maintain a community here we should bow to those prejudices and only let pre-approved posters start a thread? Really?

That can't be what you mean, surely?

i am hoping that the next thread will be full of glitches and good humour, saving all of us lots of money....in whatever form that might take....none of us are pre approved but some posters have contributed a lot to the success of this thread.

They post when there's no one about, they post drivel:rotfl: to keep the thread moving along and enable the chinks of money saving light to shine through. They keep the thread alive:)

If people genuinely don't care who starts the thread that's fine. If people really care who starts the thread that's fine too. Where's midwinter's branches when you need them:rotfl:

It's not prejudice mrs B.......it's me being selfish. I want this thread to flourish

No you explained yourself perfectly your first post, pretty much sums up why people stop coming here.
