    Congratulations to your dd:j
I do see a pattern forming, you get a new car and a child passes driving test:eek:

I have my mini back from DS1 who has bought his own car. I'm very reluctant to part from my big beast car though :o it's big and it's a pain to park but I feel safe driving it on the Mway :o
I *think* I may have a free pass not this weekend but next. After I've travelled wherever I'm going I might SORN it.

    Hope you are ok :A

    NOOOO!!!

These are the worst invention/idea ever! If someone has proved their competence and been able to pass a test, they should not have to have these on their car, they are like a red rag to a bull. There was a school near me, where all the students were advised to take these off their cars, as people were looking for them, and then getting infront of the P plated cars and slamming their brakes on, hoping that the inexperienced drivers would crash into the back of them for a nice juicy insurance claim.

I'm sure that's not the case in most or maybe some places. I for one, pay attention to them. Insurance scammers don't need a target, they'll do it anyway.
I'm actually terrified of her going out on her own. She had 6 minor points on her test. One for hesitation at roundabouts which is something I've constantly picked her up on myself.
The driving test today is far removed from what you or I took when we did it. It's no more or less stringent when you look at it, it's just different

It just helps them spot what could be an easier target, and an easy target, it (obviously) easier than a hard target.

As for the driving test, with me being so young and fresh, it was possibly the very same test. :D

No I might need to get a job as a chauffeur to pay for her car :o
When it came down to it, I wanted her to feel as special as DS1 did and just couldn't make her take his sloppy seconds :o (she already has middle child syndrome)
I got a very good deal on a lease for 2 years. There are actually some really good deals on leases when you look into it.

Yes I could've and maybe should've been MSE about it. But her confidence about it was so low :o I got the car a couple of weeks back as an incentive :D I've been driving around in it and will miss it :o it's small and nippy.

We went out tonight and I didn't let her go out in the car with her mates. She also only gets to drive on the proviso she wears P plates. She's taking her dad out tomorrow. He's a terrible passenger  so I will stay out of that unless any 999 calls need to be made

Yes have to treat them all fairly. Dd got my old corse and the boys had already bought cars before their tests so they got £500 each towards insurance costs.
Did you have a black box or anything else fitted that means she will have to come home before curfew.
More importantly will she be driving to school.

loved it when my children began driving so much more freedom for everyone.

    I'm off to bed.
I got home today to a letter 'inviting' me to another bone marrow examination. Do they think because they call it an invite I'll wear a party dress and bring a present?
It should seriously not be called an invite. if it's really an invite it'd have an RSVP with a choice of saying no

What is all this telling people they're invited to something?

Ohh get me I got invited to a bone marrow biopsy. Shopping for the dress as we speak.....

Seriously, it should not be treated like you are being honoured by an invite. I'd rather they said 'get your !!!! up here Bella we want to stick a big needle in it'

I feel like when I get 'invited' to smear tests. They could at least buy me a drink first :)

Yes, had letter back saying he is out of office until 19th so longer wait than just 2 weeks as presume the time starts when he sees the letter.

She's in 6th form college and yes she will be driving.

Unbelievably she is so manipulative she has made a deal with our house guest (who is quite the chef) that if he cooks her a sausage or bacon butty every morning she will drive him to school

Extortion  I've no idea where she gets it from
