    Evening all.
Just catching up and see that Nanny is back, hope all OK.
Sarah, hope all goes well with the little one.
I need to get my shopping mojo back. Life has been so busy since coming back from our cruise.
The funeral was awful, D's stroppy daughter and gdaughter wouldn't tell us where the wake was, so we had our own. D's son was excluded completely by them, so I videoed the funeral for him, and he managed to visit the grave before it was filled in, with his flowers and a letter for his Dad. Mum went to visit the grave 2 days after and they had removed all our family's floral tributes, she couldn't find them anywhere. I received abusive texts. It has all been so upsetting.:(
A good friend went to his gp as he had developed double vision, and after an urgent mri scan was taken to a London hospital where they removed a brain tumour the next day. He has some memory loss, but is making progress.
Today has been the first 'normal' day for ages. Had a pub lunch and half a bottle of merlot and some laughs.
Hopefully I'll have time to catch up properly and get my Waitrose pick and Sains account vouchers sorted, Xmas shopping started, and get back into mse shopping.
I'm off to France for a few days break soon. My friend, like VT, is a calming influence, so a bit of r&r will do me good.
I hope all is well with you all. Nice to see old posters returning.
    Hugs to all in need.

Thank you for saying I am a calming influence:)

    Hugs for the crap stuff.

I seem to have suddenly got a bit of Xmas shopping done in the last week.
Beckham sets, yankee candles and some Molton Brown stuff.

Will be spending on look fantastic later. Nice to see benefit have bought out more colours in the 'they're real' range. Love the eyeliner it's amazing but could only get in black before and I really need brown.

mhoc the cat food, you had to go to the subscribe and save bit and click on item to get coupon then was a code for another 35%. Think it sold out last night. Today's best deal was the vanish gold powder for £3.21 after subscribe and save.
only just clicked with me to check these deals but both were on hukd as well.

Needed a mail on Sunday code for £10 off you beauty advent calendar. Tesco express was a disgrace as papers had been pillaged for the pan colouring books. It was late but managed to find a back page so was given it for as most of paper has disappeared. Treated myself to some magazines for the freebies.

Another rubbish bag in bin from art room but mostly seemed to be moving stuff around so gave up for today.

    Off for a catch up

I'm limited to what I like with Benefit. I like their cheek and lip stain and can confirm it stays put during a visit to the dentist :D and I love The pore fessional. Other than that I think it's decent stuff in pretty packaging aimed at girlies much younger than me!

Hope you are ok and getting plenty of rest :A

I am just wondering how big or small these Molton Brown baubles are?

I am thinking of putting them into silver gift bags and also including some sort of Christmassy type of chocolate possibly

We are going to be in the Canaries between now and Christmas. I know some Elte are very seasoned travellers so can you suggest what sort of thing I can look out for which might be suitable ie Christmas chocolate or sweeties?
We are also in Lisbon but I am not sure how much shopping time we will have .

Only typically canaria thing I can think of (lanzarote) is honey rum. Usually served for after a nice meal but lovely poured over corniche ice cream.

Why would the supermarkets be peed off?? They're not profiting from it. The whole 5p goes to charity.......

Oh no it doesn't .... 5p LESS VAT go to 'good causes'. The Treasury manages to get a VAT take on the amount 😠

It feels a bit like the end of an era today - we had the last of our bubbs beef. It was already cooked, sliced and frozen so I just did it in an onion gravy with some mash, peas, runner beans (damned runner beans) and yorkshires. Yummy :)

Thank you. I didn't mean to start a debate over it. I just felt that trying to circumvent the charge when good causes are gaining from it was a bit crass.

I'm actually astounded at the amount of people who still use plastic bags :o

Bikertov, you've hit it absolutely spot on. :T:T:T
Not uncaring at all. As a mum with a DS who has disabilities, I would have loved for everyone to treat him as normal (he is, by the way - pit of a bedroom etc :eek: ) instead of a 'freak'
Wish more people had your outlook.

Thank you for taking the comment in the way it was meant. Too often, and on here especially, the written word can be taken in the wrong context.

It often amazes me how resilient kids are. Just a shame us adults can't learn from them sometimes, with our prejudices and sometimes misplaced opinions that we can't help but have. We are all guilty of them at times.
