henlans...I was going to say you dont get much for £200 ....but I see you edited your post to basically say that!

I remember when my boys were growing up and their thing was knex...soo overpriced it was unbelievable but if thats what they are into then let the kids enjoy it if they can.

hope your lad enjoys his stuff....

I know.. he has over 80 skylanders and swap force.. I would hate to work out how much that would have cost if I had to pay for them all. Now worth nothing really. he uses them as ornaments on his shelve in his room as he dont play that much.

I wanted to post a really good story that I did with my child that was 7 in july.. He was giving about £250 from family and friends for his birthday.. because he was so excited about the lego dimensions that come out today! He saved ALL his money to spend today.

When the fanta glitch come.. I said to him.. how about you help me and you can have all the profits from the 500 bottles of pop and he was so excited to help.

So I took him out on saturday and the sunday and we bought 500
(I bought more but this was with him) bottles of pop with his £250 and sold them for 70p a bottle. so his £250 investment gave him about £235 back in APG's plus I added a little to top it up. He now has £350 worth pop to keep selling and half of it has gone and in the end had £220 in APGS and hes now at school and looking forward to this.

He worked hard, hes learned about how to make money, how to sell drinks.. hes only 7 and was happy to help.

But this is what he ended up with today for £200 in APG's and has £20 left.

All 100% free :) He now wants to do it again for the next batch that comes out next year. :) So he got back his £250 and a extra £100

BTW.. Personally.. for £200 I think this is so over priced.. but in the end it was free..

Well done Henlans. I always enjoy hearing about your exploits. Some useful lessons about money, even tho it's not always that easy!
  • About 10 days ago nan got quite a lot of clubcard vouchers offering her nearly 700 points when she bought certain things, I was a bit miffed as I never get any vouchers but just logged into my clubcard account and they were sat there so just printed them off. Worth checking your accounts :)

Is it right that a couple of Oat So Simple (8-12 pack) are £1 in A but others are variant prices (all above £2) and 2 for £4? Not £1 on all of them and therefore, on some, pay £1x2 but 2 for £4 comp., hopefully vs Morries at £1 each? Maybe a couple are £1 in A and the rest are not:think:.

Oat So Difficult, given how long-winded it's been to put them onto the M list! Remember, it's only "Simple" according to them;):rotfl: - perhaps I have a mare of a time making their products()!

I'm a great believer in financial education for kids...whether its parents that teach it or if it were introduced in schools.

I'm not sure at what level the APG science needs to be introduced but basic saving and spending be taught as a life skill to all youngsters.
