I'm way back on page 178  just wanted to say that when we go away abroad I'm fine in the warmth. It's the cold damp air that gets me or if I over do things the old osteo flairs up.
Don't know how I managed the Nirway cruise, it was -15 degrees but it is a different cold up there, not damp if you know what I mean :o.

We went on a dog sled ride which everyone was told that if you have back problems it is advised you don't take part. I just thought, well it's once in a life time so I went ahead and did it  back and other joints ached the day after but it was worth it.
The ice hotel was fantastic too, we spent a few hours there, me dressed in my thermals :rotfl::rotfl:

Definitely suffer if I over do it too. The heat sometimes makes it worse here, if we have had a hot night, I find finger joints swell and ache first thing, but hotel had excellent air conditioning in rooms at no extra cost so I think a good nights sleep in the cool was perfect.

I don't like the cold at all don't think I would have been as brave as you. But as you say you can't let it hold you back. I even had a go at archery while away but my hands did ache by the end of it, I try not to let it spoil anything and most importantly keep things moving.

    Evening all

Glad so many of the Elite have been well fed and watered for free.

Those with arthritis mine is rheumatoid but very dry heat works wonder. Well any heat but not good in humid weather. Went to Florida in July one year and was in alot of pain. That's why I love Sharm so much as no pain. I imagine Turkey has the same dry heat in the summer.

I've worked on medical tribunals on and off for years. OA is one of the most common ailments I've seen on them. Everyone who has it describes cold and damp conditions as making the symptoms worse and dry heat easing things. I've even heard a lot of people claiming to be able to predict cold and damp weather on the way because the pain gets worse beforehand. I've no reason to doubt that after the amount of different people I've heard saying it.

I've come across plenty of people who've moved abroad for that very reason.

    Human Barometors? :D

Yep, grab the chances while they are there, I do. Yes I suffer afterwards but if I didn't Id do nowt :rotfl::rotfl:
The only thing I can do is get down on my hands and knees  COULDNT do it before my op and told not to afterwards:). DH has to do cleaning of the skirting boards and a few other bits. He does the lions share of the cooking too as my hands can't peel spuds or prep the veg now. Can't lift the heavy pans etc

Oh well off for Bit on the Side  then live stream from the house on 5*

See you tomorrow sleep well x

    Night night Elite x

I've just come back and - just before I go again - the one that made me laugh in M today is the pricing now on the Wisdom 20 pack Clean Between Dental Brushes. Somehow that 2 for £4 price makes me laugh:rotfl::rotfl:.

Previous mbuys in M on this product have been 2 for £3 (now you see why I've laughed at the current pricing!) - so, avoid!:rotfl:

As if we'd fall for that one... (I suspect quite a number of people would).

I can vouch for that fc, my joints let me know when bad weather for them is on the way. The warm heat abroad is a drier heat and brilliant for me.
Right I'm off to bed to now, night night again :)

Looks like morrisons are looking to ditch the match and more. well that didnt last long lol

If that's true, that's actually not a surprise to me. Coincidentally, around the same time as you were posting, I was thinking about Match and More and how it was quite a complex scheme, created under previous boss Dalton Philips, that Morries had tied themselves into and wouldn't be surprised if they got rid of it. I don't think it's working, from their POV. That's what I felt in my brief thought process (as occasionally you get) this afternoon. (You only have to look at the reports of future store closures in the past few days and pre-tax profits to August down by nearly half.) So - if M&M were to be being dropped, that does not surprise me at all.

All this talk about Limoncello has made me fancy some. I missed out on the free meal too. Has anyone tried this bottle from Asda? Just wondered if it is any good!

Right I'm off to bed to now, night night again :)

I even thought whether to put the central heating on the other night:eek::eek::eek:. It's only September! It did feel a bit cold, in the later part of the evening, but fortunately I did not have to succumb to that yet. I do hope the weather stays a bit warmer for a bit longer. Not good to be freezing like winter on September nights:rotfl:.
  • We had a fabulous time at Bella Italia with the same food that has been reported, so much of it!. Out of the 20 free meals that our one had been allocated only 8 were taken up and we had 4 of those (we took friends with us). We also brought back some of the pizza and the shank bones for Henry.
    Thank you mhoc.
