You are being picky. Given the choice of a Bosch engineer or one of Currys Know How people you are far better off with Bosch. Of course you could have insisted Currys rang Bosch for you, if you want to stick to the letter of the law, but there's no point in using a middle man when you don't need to.

It's unfortunate that you've been left with cosmetically damaged goods, was this not queried whilst the engineer was there? I wouldn't have signed off the work. Have you offered to take pics of the damage to send to Bosch? This might get you a faster remedy.

Unfortunately I was not there when the engineer called round, my wife dealt with him and she is very non-confrontational so didn't even mention her concerns to him.

Offered all sorts to Bosch to get it sorted but, even if they would accept a photo - which they won't, it wouldn't adequately show the lovely rattle it now makes. They are very insistent on sending the same guy round as before. This is causing DW a fair bit of stress because, as I've already mentioned, she is very non-confrontational and thinks the sitaution will be extremely awkward as she is complaining about the guy's work. I would happily send it to them (at their expense of course) so they could look at it themselves, but that's not how they want to deal with the issue.

Unfortunately I can't be there for his call as I have my own work to go to.

Edit: Actually, I have my doubts about your comment about being far better off with a Bosch guy given the pigs ear he's made of it.

What a load of tosh from Currys.

I thought all goods came with a 12 month warranty from the retailer.

I bought a hand vacum from Aldi, after ligh use it refused to work after 9 months, store refunded me.

I am sorry to destroy your illusion, but that isn't right.

There is no obligation for any retailer to provide any warranty.
