No keys for Double glazed windows

Hi guys,
just about to buy a house, and have realised that for a fair few windows we do not have a key to open them.
Has anyone managed to get a key made up for exisiting locks before?
I've mailed the company concerned to see what they can do, and as one of the handles is locked, but open, I will be able to remove it to take it down to the installer.
Has anyone done this before, do you think a locksmith would be able to make a key from the lock, if the window company can't help out??
Many thanks
Dan

You could get some replacement handles from Screwfix0 -
Thanks FunkyMunkey, the issue being is that most of the handles, are locked, in the closed position.
In this position, you are unable to move the handle, so you are unable to remove the screws that secure the handle to the frame.
I think if I had to remove them, I would end up doing permanent damage to the sealed unit, which would prove rather costly.
Cheers

If yours are like mine then the same key fits all the windows Try taking a key to your local keycutter I'm sure they will have blanks to fit"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

Jeez, that's a tough one!0 -
window keys are universal so as previous post, the other ones should work as long as they are the same type of window casing.0

As with Optimist, the same key fits all the windows in my house bar the patio door as that recently had to have a new handle fitted, so different to original. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
We had this problem. I suggest that you ask around friends and family and borrow a selection of window keys. As they are all pretty much the same, one is bound to fit.
After trying to buy replacement handles and keys online (the only place that stocked them wouldn't send out the order or answer calls), I just happened across a locksmith that would order them in. So my suggestion is to remove a handle and then trawl round the local places. You can buy new risers, handles, dust caps and seals - everything to make a window look new again!0 -
Hello all, I have definitely tried every other single key that we have, inlcuding the other window keys for the other windows, and none of them fit :-(
However I did mail the window sompany yesterday, and they are popping a key in the post to me for no charge, so am hoping that will fit.
If not, I will remove the one handle I can, and either take it down to the window company, and if they can't help, onto a locksmith.
Cheers
