In the end, you can't decide when you get off-peak electricity it's down to the supplier, DNO or generator. In your case it seems that the meter is set up to switch at fixed times but controlled by the remote time signal

You get what you get in a maximum range of start / stop. You can change the start or stop point in your appliances, for example your immersion heating starting an hour later or finishing an hour [STRIKE]later[/STRIKE] earlier - but you can not change the initial range set by the teleswitch. This is regardless of exotic tariffs like Heatwise/THTC/Comfort Plus, or 2 rate 2 separate meters [MPAN's] rather than single rate meters.

  • The old analogue circular 24 hr timer switches are the luckier ones as their cheap 7 hours can be anywhere in the 24 hrs, just a pity that most users of this set up are nt aware of that .They have an adjustable on/off setting. I ve been told its possible to move the 7 hrs around .

    I have such a switch

My clock is 20minutes slow, so get an extra 20 mins off peak in the morning.

Looking at the mechanism, if you were prepared to break the lead seals you could make any alterations you wanted eg 7 hours at any time you wished, or even 23 hours on cheap rate!
