No 7 match service..is it any good?

I have never worn a foundation before so have no idea what shade to buy. Have tried tinted moisturiser and bb creams and I can tell the shade doesn't suit my skin tone.
I don't live near any other makeup counters so am considering going into Boots.
Also, once they match you up, is it easier then to buy a close shade in a different brand?

My daughter was colour matched by boots recently.
It's too dark for her, you can see it doesn't match her neck.
I'm not sure if they read the neck, might be worth asking them too.
If you can get to a MAC store (or a store that stocks it) I've yet to better their face & body foundation (I only use it on my face). If you buy the large bottle, it's economical.
I've tried loads, currently trying Tarte, recently Lancôme, I always go back to it.0 -
No its rubbish, as Kim Kim said the colour was way off, my dd had it done too and they don't tell you that their products oxidise a lot so a few hours later you'll look dreadful, I second the MAC recommendation although not face and body unless you have dry skin, its worth a trip and a free appointment with a MAC make up artist, there are also lots of dupes for MAC products if you don't want to stick with theirs, my personal favourite is Estee Lauder DW, although best for oily skin, they have a chart which can be matched to your skin colour, its very accurate and they give you a huge sample, there are lots of dupes for this too good luck

I found the boots match good and the foundation looks good on my skin and doesn't cause dryness or oil problems.Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0

Thanks for the replies. I don't live near any stores with designer makeup counters unfortunately.0

I have used the colour match service and I found it an accurate match. They have a range of different foundations and I use the radiance one which goes on well and lasts all day. For the price it is worth a shot and you can always ask for a sample to try at home and to check in daylight.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

I've used it and the match was perfect. I have always had trouble with getting the wrong shade in the past. The assistant was very helpful and advised me on the type of foundation to buy. I'm intimidated by the large beauty counters in departments stores but this was ideal.0

I would feel intimidated by the large beauty counters too, that's why I thought of trying Boots.0 -
I found the colour match service to be pretty good, though the type of foundation wasn't good, it made my skin look too matte. But I would still recommend them, - you get what you pay for. I need to ask them what shade of blusher to go for now

I had it done when they first started. Lisa Elderidge thought up the machine thing.
I thought the match wasn't bad, but did not like the foundation at all. Awful.
Sephora in the US have a matching service machine, but theirs will match you to every brand of foundation they sell. Much better idea. I cannot see why a department store could not bring this idea to the UK.0
