    There is nothing unhealthy about organic chips fried in organic oil. Sounds delicious!

    In excess, deep-fried foods could lead to weight gain, maybe that is her issue?

    Absolutely no difference whatsoever!!

    Those people who peel potatoes (and other vegetables and fruit) are completely wasting their money buying organic. All chemicals reside in the outer layer/skin.

    And there's no such thing as an organic oil. There are just healthy and non-healthy fats/oils.

    Same reason I previously asked here what I could feed the gchildren as treats. II just do not understand modern rules for feeding children - i grew up in southern France on French peasant food where chips come naturally as do cakes and ice cream. I genuinely struggle to understand rules of healthy cooking for modern British kids.

    (ps I have been told by them that gd loves sweet things cakes especially but must not let her have them as they are bad for her so I don't. )

    Since organic pesticides are not as efficient as synthetic ones most of the time, they can sometimes need up to 3 x the dosage as well for the same effectiveness.

    Has anyone mentioned that feeding kids a carefully produced healthy version of a food may add to their demanding more of that food? This may be unpopular with a parent who does not themselves want to make the same recipe, regardless of how healthy that particular chip, cake, biscuit or icecream is.

    But surely this then becomes a treat that is only available when the children go to stay with, or eat at, the person's house who is willing and able to produce the healthy version. If it's not something they usually eat at home then they're not going to miss or expect it at home.

    As kids we all had our favourite food items or meals that we would only ever eat at grannies house :)
