Gas oven pressure suddenly low

It's an old gas cooker from 10+years ago, which I also like for the eye-level grill. This still works well enough; all 4 hobs ditto.
Oven ignition used to mean a 1-2 second wait, then a low flare for 4/5 seconds with a whoosh to any higher regulo setting I'd chosen.
That final stage today ceased. A low flickering blue flame row is all that appears. At this moment, aubergine parmigiano will come to no harm in those conditions, but useless for anything requiring real heat. I can put my hand in, rest it on the racks....
Tried it several times. Have searched forum for similar Threads and doubt I would know what to do. There seem to have been men with well-stocked workshops and considerable knowledge on those very old threads.
Suggestions please?

The ovens flame supervision device is no longer opening to full gas rate, it's stuck on the by-pass rate. A knowledgeable gas engineer should be able to either fix it or replace the problem part. If the cooker is old and parts unavailable then it's likely come to the end of its life.
Either way, if the safety device isn't working property it'll be classes as immediately dangerous by a gas safe engineer0 -
Thankyou bridgedino - that's just the sort of reply which makes sense to me.
Does this sort of thing just happen suddenly? I can't just give it a healthy wallop somewhere?CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Its likely to be a liquid expansion flame supervision device, the heat from the low rate of gas should be enough to expand the liquid inside the phial and allow it to open to full gas rate. If it's faulty I doubt a hammer will fix it.
Though more than likely it'll be very theroputic0
