  • Fact of the matter is Amazon is great for consumers, terrible for employees.
  • Thanks Redvision and DJP64, I am glad I didn't chase up this 'opportunity.' I did restaurant deliveries years ago - it involved speed, and some pressure (not bad pay.)

What you are referring to, sounds much worse.

    Thanks for clarifying things.

    Cheers

all delivery work involves speed, if I didn't floor it every day I wouldn't make a living. its sad that it has to be that way but if you can do it and do it right, theres a fair chunk to be made in the game.

    Hi Redvision

Are there any types of delivery job you would recommend? I really enjoyed delivering for restaurants.

    Thanks

  • It really depends on your style.
Ive done (and still do) fast food - its the easiest to get into and it does earn good money with the right company. that earnt me enough to get me through my car and bike test and got me both my triumph tiger 800 and my Mercedes sprinter (just got my new one today).
Removals - whilst its good money its VERY hard work and some customers can be complete twits.
    Nationwide/European deliveries.
Motorcycle collection + delivery - practice with friends bikes first if you don't have one, don't do this until you really know how to load and strap one down (loads of info on internet)

For a starter though, stick to fast food delivery. Find your niche. What I think is good might not be your cup of tea.

Do you research, really read into things. I found truckersnet forum and a well known van driver forum loads of help.

  • Thanks I will find those forums, food delivery is good, especially if you target very wealthy areas. The amounts of money they spent on food (Indian specifically) was ridiculous. Tips in wealthy areas was also great from certain people.

yeah, some of my best earning days are when im out delivering food. Ill only deliver to nice areas purely because that's where the money is. I can take home as much as £125 in a night after fuel  but saying that, I deliver by bike.

Hope all goes well for you, if you need any more info/help etc just PM me :)
