Freightliner/banana boat passage

Has anyone had experience of freightliner passage? and could recommend any agents.

I think my wife has been on one of these as she often says " Do you think I arrived on the last Banana boat" when I explain the "Good Deals" I see to her.

I remember reading an article some years back that although not much difference in price compared to a "regular cruise" they tend to stop-over longer - very appealling to me. I am not too concerned about the luxury side of things.

The best agent by far for freighter travel is Strand Travel at Charing Cross in London. Usually no more than 12 people per trip but remember you are secondary to the goods in transit which will take priority and many ships are booked up well in advance. It suits those that want to sit and read or contemplate life, if that is not you, then the 'banana boats' are not for you, and yes you can get berths on the banana boats!

Thank you all for your responses...........mmmmmm will have to think seriously about this, I am not such a great book reader - had'nt given much thought to life being a bit slow on one of these voyages.
