Advice Please, Debt Collector Stage./ Driver Details

Hi, Thanks for all the advice I've read up as much as possible but the information I have found does not fully relate to my situation.
I've received threatening letter from Wright Hassell (I know) on behalf of VCS for a ticket issued 6 months ago. The ticket was not my fault, it was my ex girlfriend who was parked outside her place of work and I was under the impression it had been dealt with and sorted.
Today I received a threatening letter dated back in July??? - due to the failure to make a payment we have added a £30 charge and may look to obtain CCJ's etc....
I have the address of the driver and have drafted a letter explaining this and I have no problem with sending it though I have tried to reason with her.
Obviously it has passed 28 days so would they be likely to accept her details?
Is that likely to resolve it for me? or will that just make them chase me again.
Also do I speak with Wright and Hassall or go directly to VCS?
Do I ignore them? I would have dealt with it months ago if I knew
Although I don't want to go to court, I feel strongly that I shouldn't pay it as I have never parked therefore and surely never entered any contract with them.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks

Yes you can name the driver to VCS and at the same time do a debt denied letter to Wright & Hassall.REVENGE IS A DISH BETTER SERVED COLD0

before you do anything read through ...
the newbies thread ...
forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=4816822
and do a forum search for Wright Hassell ...... be prepared to be shocked
do not ever ring a debt crawler ............
just so that you understand the 'game' you are now in .....
VCS are part of the corrupt (IMO) IPC and so as such you would still be in this position as you never win an appeal to a PPC or the kangaroo appeals court of the IAS

Hi Thanks for your replies...
I've read up about Wright Hassall and even spoke to the C.A.B who weren't nearly as helpful as the information provided above.
If I send letters as suggested by Northlakes then surely that isn't an appeal, its me informing them that they are barking up the wrong tree and need to contact the driver and providing the details to do so.
I have read that the driver is responsible and the registered keeper only becomes liable when they don't know who the driver is?
Thanks0 -
Your last sentence is correct. So by sending them the details of the driver, you remove any liability you have with regard to the ticket, and that should be the end of it.
I say 'should'. As far as the current legislation (schedule 4 of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012) is concerned it IS the end of it, but be warned that some of these private parking companies don't much care for the law and may well continue to pester you.
If they do, come back here and we'll tell you who to complain to.Je Suis Cecil.0 -
Thank you very much, I'll keep you posted!0
