FSCS Protection Limit - Investments

There has been a lot of discussion about the FSCS limit for cash savings dropping from £85k to £75k but I read a comment somewhere that the £50k limit for investments was dropping too.

Is this a mistake - it was posted online with no link to the source - as I've seen no mention up to now that the investment link was changing. Is this a fixed amount or set relative to the Euro as well?

pretty sure that's a mistake. it was mentioned on monevator (in connection with degiro) that the dutch equivalent compensation for investments is limited to €20,000, which suggests that there's no EU standard for this.

There's no reason to think this is changing. The investment limit is set within the UK. The FSCS website doesn't mention this specifically in it's Q&A about limit changes page, but it does pose the following Q&A:

13. Are any other FSCS limits changing?
Yes the FSCS limits for claims under long term insurance contracts and certain general insurance contracts increase to 100% (from 90%) from 3 July.

...so, it would have been mentioned there if there were any changes.
