Another loser who has p1ssed their money away in a debt addicted frenzy and now looking for an easy way out.

Plenty more of these to come in the next few months.

That's a bit of a generalisation actually. There are plenty of people that run up debts investing in their business. A friend of mine is a very sucessful farmer that borrowed a load of cash to buy some further farms and to make his more productive. If the bottom had fallen out of his market (like with foot and mouth or something) does that make him a loser? I hope we haven't got to the point where we don't want individuals to invest in their businesses.

Having said that, there are plenty of idiots out there that have just blown all their cash and are looking for a bail-out. Just don't point the finger so quickly. Unless you know something I don't of course in which case feel free IYSWIM.

    By definition, yes.

OK. I should have said probably a loser.....

Generally, I have no sympathy for people who have been seduced by HPI and cheap and easy money and consequently borrowed way beyond their means and are now finding themselves in difficulty.

#1. The people that run these "sell your house and rent back" companies are generally lying thieves and are best avoided

#2. This time next year house prices in general will be lower than they are now

#3. Cheap houses are a good thing not a bad thing

You are making a hell of a lot of assumptions regarding the original poster and his circumstances. There are all sorts of reasons why people find themselves in debt (divorce, illness, redundancy, family problems, poor investments etc.).

Has he been seduced by HPI and cheap and easy money? How do you know that, exactly?

And you may note that the original poster has not asked for your sympathy, just useful advice which, fortunately, other posters have been able to provide.

Could anyone tell me if their is a way to sell have your house. Then buy it back again a few years done the line, £25,000 in debt and could lose my home that i have built for my family it's really getting me down, any advice welcome thank you gareth

    Hi gbuba30

Yes there is a way which would ensure you have the proper legal right to repurchase the property. It involves an option agreement and would need to be agreed with the potential purchaser of your home, and registered against the property title at the Land Registry. It can be agreed with some sell and rent back providers, but not all offer this.

If you do deal with any companies, be sure to make sure they do not charge you anything, and be very careful to vet them to ensure they explain exactly what their plans would be. You need to be VERY comfortable with any potential purchaser so make sure you ask plenty of questions and be wary of anyone who wants to pressure you into a decision. If you would like any further help with this just post your questions here about how it might work.

    Best wishes

no offence but 25K interest only at 6% is only £125 a month or say working 8-10 hours a week minimum wage, you could practically pay it on the dole with 2 of you. have you though about how your debt is structured and cut everythng back to the bone like ditching holidays, nights out etc.

So you'll have no sympathy with anyone in this whole forum then? Surely we have all been guilty of falling for HPI, cheap easy money etc to a greater or lesser extent..... Hence why we are here in the first place?

Are you not here for support? Or to issue advice? Or are you only here to judge?

People sometimes need to hear the truth if they are misguided or under a misapprehension about something. But the OP did not appear to be any of those things. Please do not try to put people off this site by being judgmental and aggressive. The OP had some issues with attitude of posters on another thread, all you are doing is proving him right in that regard.

Posts are supposed to be helpful, supportive and non judgemental. Maybe you are on the wrong website, if you don't need advice (smug may be the word i'm looking for) and aren't willing to give advice to others in a non judgemental way.

    Rant over.... sorry all.
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

There are rules on this forum. Your sweeping generalisation and insulting reply to a poster in need of advice breaks them.

And for the record, my debts are as a result of an unscrupulous ex who thought it was ok to steal off a single mum. Do I consider myself a loser? NO!! I am a winner, I am clearing my debts through hard work, and will soon be completing a house sale which will give me the funds to live properly again. That makes me a winner.

Try not to be so judgmental in the future. It could be you in a mess one day.

    There's good. And there's bad.
There's sympathetic people like us. And there's Dolce Vita.:o

There's no point in blaming its night or its dark or there's Dolce Vita. Nothing will stop them being them.

So we will continue addressing the real issue posted by the op here and stop the rest.
