Anyone here have any experience of it? Is it really any good, or will it choke on thick branches, and loose power rapidly?

I'm after something similar, fed up of chopping through the cord!

I bought one recently from Aldi at £34.99, it is only for light work, otherwise it is fine. Battery last fourty minutes and needs overnight recharge, the telescopic element is great for reach.
