Is that odd? There's nothing on my Equifax account showing a search. We applied and got accepted for the mortgage in June and the house is going to be ready in October - do you think they'll do another credit search?

Should I be concerned about this? It also shows 3 searches - 2 are soft (no impact), but one of them says:

09/06/2015 Nationwide building society Negative impact on score
Entry number P1
Application type First Mortgage
Amount £183,750
Term 360 months
Name
Date of birth
Address FLAT 3 8/3 8 xxx MEDWAY
Length at this address 10 months

What's odd? If lenders announced when and what checks they'd be performing. Then people would play the system.

This helpful article may explain why – Nationwide search generally via Experian not Equifax. Your NW card will make it onto Equifax eventually and callcredit/Noddle.

PS I suggest you remove your flat no/postcode from your post – it’s a bit of a giveaway!

I only have 2 soft ID searches from Nationwide on my Experian file. I expect they do another search nearer completion.

My NW mortgage application hasn't shown on Noddle (callcredit).

Have you completed? It's just weird to me that they've already done a hard search, so if they do another, that's two searches in the space of 4mths

Simply monitoring the situation. Checks are automated. So machine driven. The lender is going to advance you thousands of pounds so is going to recheck you given the mortgage offer was made months back.

Don't expect to see a search on Equifax or Call Credit.

About 40% of Lenders tend to stick to one credit reference agency.

Most of the others use two - some use three.

With regard to the link above:

The suggestion that picking lenders according to the CRA they use seems a little naïve to me. If you had a default on Equifax that was not showing on Experian I hope the suggestion is not that you go to a lender that uses Experian exclusively choosing not to declare the default on the application?

By the way, I don't believe the table in the link above to be accurate in any case.

Second that the table is no longer accurate.

Many of the Experian led lenders have started to migrate to Call Credit (assume it is a cheaper option) but have left access to Experian for their centralised teams.

    Always declare everything to broker/adviser

Many of the "I've just had my offer pulled" threads on here wanting help tend to have took a gamble and been uncovered further down the line (although they tend to forget this when starting their thread venting/worrying)

    Best of luck
