PCN for parking outside bays when bays are not fully marked?

Hi all
I have received a PCN for parking over a marked bay. This is for a park and ride site where the land is uneven hardcore/gravel and the bays are not fully marked, there are only 'corner markings' on two of the outermost corners, but no lines at all down the sides or at the front because its just gravel.
When I arrived I parked adjacent several cars which were already there and were over the outer 'bay' markings, leaving just enough space for me to get out but not an excessive gap.
This park and ride site is always under-used and readily has over 100 empty spaces. Today was no exception. To say my parking was preventing others from doing so wouldn't be reasonable.
Is it worth trying to appeal?

I do have a picture on my phone to evidence the above but I can't share it because I'm blocked from doing so as a new user0

As we tend to major on private parking tickets here, PePiPoo will be your best bet for council tickets. Here's your link:

Have a read through some of the other threads there before you post your own to get the hang of what information they need from you in your opening post - but as a minimum you will need photos/scans of all correspondence you've received from the council (both sides, if appropriate).
PePiPoo has an excellent success record in dealing with council tickets.
HTHPlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
