HSBC PPI Complaint

Hiya,
Has anyone experienced this?
I sent off my form along with loan agreements and cover letter about 4 weeks ago. Recorded but stupidly lost the receipt.
Not recieved any acknowledgement of the letter being received as yet.
I have tried calling today to see if i can get any confirmation. Sent from pillar to post and finally got a number for HSBC head office complaints.
They can't acknowlegde whether the complaint has been received or not because i couldn't pass the telephone banking security. I have not banked with them since 2007 and it was the early 90's when i opened my acccont with them, so i couldn't quite remember the security number or the exact year i opened the account and failed that process.
The lady on the phone said it could be because my address is different from when i banked with them or that i didn't put the address on the form/letter (which i did) and i need to prove who i say i am by going into a branch and setting up telephone banking so i can be verified to get acknowledgment that they have or have not received my complaint.
Is this normal procedure so early on in a complaint?

Send them another letter, remind them you sent your complaint 4 weeks ago and hey have another 4 weeks to respond before you go to the FOS.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

I've had the same lack of response from HSBC having waited a few months now, and have just sent off 2 more claim letters (recorded delivery). I'll follow the advice of -taff if I don't hear anything within a few weeks.0

They will probably say they have lost it and fill in a new one.
You'd probably be better off filling in the form and waiting for them rather than ging to to the FOS because you could wait up to 2 years with the FOS.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
