Ugg boots on eBay weekly fashion deals for £49.99 with free delivery (not my type of thing, but thought someone may benefit!)
I can't post a link but if you go to the UK eBay website and put in this item number, it should come up: 1404533053780 -

I think its a fair point for me to make as the general consensous of people who are on here asking and telling about so called fake Uggs probably have no idea that they are just a style of boot not a brand.
Yes but that would mean we have to waste time and finger power correcting every MSE'r when they mention "Ugg boots" and say "you mean 'Ugg Australia by Deckers boots" and most people visit here maybe once or twice at the most then never again. It just becomes common sense to leave the correcting and read between the lines. Ugg when being questioned means Ugg Australia By Deckers *(and now my fingers ache!:rotfl:)*
As far as defining the style of the boot, there are so many other miscellanious bits and peices that otherwise would not get a mention and it has been mentioned several times by other posters that we really need a sticky (or a few stickes) just to mention all the rules and could-be important bits on Uggs but at the end of the day, no one reads them, few remember them and it seems to be the case that to help others out here, most want a simple answer to their "are these Uggs fake" question.
Unfortunetly the history of the Ugg boot, the fact they were all made in China, the listings on the Ugg webite and instructions for knowing when a site is fake without even clicking the link, is all lost on them. Common sense prevails, 'Ugg' = Ugg Australian by Deckers in most cases on here.0 -
Hi I was hoping one of you lovely people could help me. I am looking for a pair of ugg kensingtons and wondered where the cheapest place is for them? I have bought uggs from America before ( from hansensurf) is this still the best way to get them? Many thanks in advance0

Hello,
Basically I have been a victim of fraud on eBay, I bought a selection of UGG Boots from Costco in Sheffield, as I was selling these 100% genuine boots on eBay, an eBayer said he wanted to return the boots, I said fine, no problems. Upon returning the boots he sent me 100% FAKE boots and contacted eBay asking for a refund, under the eBay Buyer Protection Programme he got a FULL refund. So in effect he got genuine boots and £99.00 each for the boots!!
I compared them to the genuine ones and there are clear tell tell signs of FAKES so I thought I would list to help people:
1. The Sheepkin. Firstly it should be sheepskin, there are ugg boots that are synthetic ugg fur and they are very low quality boots. The fur should be fluffy without being shiny.
2. The labels, they should be long and low down near the sole of the shoe, the UGG Should have a "r" at the top of the last G. The Australia should be bold and distinct but the fakes have bold but very large australia.
3. The soles them selves, firstly some ugg boots on eBay were bought before the NEW 2009 soles were released so the soles after 2009 should have the new sunburst style sole. AND IT SHOULD ALWAYS FLEX. Not enough to bend in half but flex enough so that your feet bend as you walk. The old styles especially in the classic have the old tread and this MUST have UGG"R" stamped on them.
4. The shape of the boot. If the boot has a more diagonal shape to them rather than a elongated shape, then these could be fake.
5. If the price is below about £69.99 for 100% genuine boots avoid like the plague.
I have pictures of the fakes I got back from this eBayer and some that I have bought (again from costco). You can clearly see the difference.
All I can say is UGG Deckers is driving me mad on eBay at the moment, because it is targetting the wrong fakes, I have had an account taken from me for selling the boots I bought from Costco! I spent £105.00 a pair of UGG Australia from Costco VAT included and cannot sell them. As everytime I list they take them off.
HOPE THIS HELPS ... happy to answer questions!!!0 -

It does sound like you were a victim of a scam, thats really nasty- not sure what I'd do in this situation and know the police may not have it as a priority but I'd still try them- get a crime number at least, then contact ebay and complain. If you have the costco reciept this would have helped your situation before the guy sent them back as you could have said to ebay that you had a genuine recipet and argued a bit but theres no promise they wouldn't have sided with the seller at the end of the day. I just wouldn't take this lying down, £100 is alot of money to lose!
Just to add though, last week, shudoo, a genune Ugg retailer, sold off their cardi range for £30 each! (rrp around £120) so it does happen, but maybe only once a year- very very rarely(most of us missed it as it was sent in an email in the afternoon when most of us are busy) but it is possible to get cheaper boots.
If anyone is at all unsure of the seller they are buying from, go direct to the genuine Ugg site and either check for retailers here http://www.uggaustralia.com/gb/retailstores/onlinestores.aspx
or email the site and ask. Ugg know who they sell their boots to so they tend to know if a site is fraudulent too.0 -

But never say never, keep your eye on sites which do sell uggs, sign up for offers and keep watching this board too. If you see any offers join up asap as most are limited and are gone in a flash (such as this one was). Best advice is to wait until the summer when you may have a better chance of a discount.0
