I'm just not sure about the sheepskinbootuk.com that I thought were my best bet!!! My £62 ones I got before were so fine and nice though!!
I don't mean to be lazy ;) but can anyone sum up what the verdict of this post has been as I can't read all 200 so pages, haha. Thanks
    A few things:

Any website with UGG in the beginning of the URL (web address) apart from the genuine Ugg Australia site itself, is fake. Ugg sell their boots to certain companies, they do not allow their boots to be sold by any other companies who are called 'Ugg' anything. Easiest way to spot the fakes and yet if I had £1 for every time someone asked or had been caught out via such a site, I'd be wearing Ugg Knightsbridge boots already!! (Seveal years saving for...)

Ugg offers are gone in the flash of an eye, its very rare Ugg boots are included in discount offered by certain sites and when they are, someone inevitably posts on here, you leave it more then 24 hours and your size is gone, you lose out. Better luck next year! Discounts of up to 20% seem to be the only ones I see, I am sure there are more.

Don't buy fakes, they are fakes for a reason most of the time; poor quality. They flop to one side, they smell bad after a short space of time, the colour runs or the heel comes away from the actual boot. Or they are not even real animal skins. Read it all before. If you can find a good look-i-likey then go for it. But last year Shudoo had what they called "Jumbucks", they dressed the entire X-Factor line up in them (this was what actually put me off considering them!) Well the following months, many reported on here that they were no comparison to the authentic Ugg Austrailia range and looked bad or were falling apart. So even well known stores selling their own versions cannot be trusted. I would say to be on the safe side, get the real deal. If you have to buy 5 fakes for every genuine pair of Ugg boots your looking at saving money getting the real thing!

I bought Uggs in 2003/4. I only decided not to wear them the beginning of this year when I wanted a newer pair. They had lasted 5 years of rain, sleet and snow. The colour had faded but they had not worn through, not come unstuck, not flopped to one side.... they were not as plush as they were but they were still not dead when I swapped them for a pair of LFAs. I strongly believe the real thing is worth it if you can afford it as the quality is second to none. But don't go getting them if your not so well off and like a new pair of boots every year- they wont save you money that way!
  • How does LFA's quality compare to that of the real deal UGG's?

How does LFA's quality compare to that of the real deal UGG's?

Well I don't know if I can really comment as I bought factory seconds (you can get these from the LFA website- there is a link on it). The LFAs I have (two pairs, sent in error I paid for only one- long story!)

With the first pair, (tall with laces on the front) they are very soft, second to none for warmth but do look like they are on the verge of flopping. They also come up big- I wish I had a size down. They are also not a pair, one being much softer then the other and there being a slight variation in colour. They do keep me very warm though and worked out very useful in the snow- didn't come unstuck, no stretching, have not fallen apart and the colour did not run despite the company selling them off cheap for "dye-run" reasons.

The smaller pair (short with laces on the front) look alot better, fit better, are more sturdy -no flopping what so ever, but are not a pair. One is butter soft the other is much more firm. They don't 'move' in the same way so if I decide to play with the laces, have them half done up, they flop on one side far more then on the other. Looks wise aside from this last point you wouldn't really see a difference. But I am fussy, I know there is a difference and it annoys me!

I get the feeling from others reviews, the non-factory-seconds are excellent quality and its just the factory seconds that have issues. I still want a pair of real Uggs again though....
  • Has anybody ordered boots from there yet? They look genuine (I've emailed deckers just now to ask if they registered with them, waiting for reply). I was wondering if anyone knows how much will be customs charges? Is it a percentage of value of boots, I just don't want to end up paying double for them (might as well buy them in Shuh or Office then ;) )

Click on contact us and their email address is a hotmail one, I'd say fake.

You are aware that Ugg is a style of boot - not a brand name.. Recently being in Australia there were all sorts of boots with Ugg as the main title. there were also Ugg Australia which is a brand of Ugg boot.

Now if you were buying Ugg Australia boots that were fake then you have been missold and as such should take further action. However if you were buying something that just said Ugg boot then you are buying a pair of Ugg boots. Whether the quality may be that of Ugg Australia is another thing altogether..

And men should never wear them

Yup am aware :D (and only have one, very genuine pair- never bought fakes ever, my one pair came from Topshop in 2004/5)

I call them Uggs rather then Ugg Austrailia as I am trying to save typing the whole thing each and every time. When most people ask for Uggs or Ugg discounts or Ugg deals, what they are asking for is Ugg Australia deals and discounts.

Its become the unsaid 'rule', saying Uggs tends to mean Ugg Australia in most peoples minds on here (and yes, I know the story, I know that they are just one of many brands, I know Ugg is a style rather then a brand name, I know about Deckers and the US/Deckers buying Ugg Australia and now manufaturing them from China...etc) but most people don't know the whole story and they tend to search for the Ugg Australia branded boot and assume all others are look-i-likies even though none really cam first at all. Hence why I feel OK to just shorten the whole "Ugg Australia by Deckers" to simply, 'Uggs' and save my fingers some typing space!;)

Agreed there are no real 'Ugg' fakes but there are many 'Ugg Australia by Deckers' fakes and this is what we hopefully are able to bring to light on here before more people get sucked in as so many seem to each year.

If they say they're authentic then they must be. They're probably rocket powered as well.

  • an unwritten rule is not a decent rule though Jennie. If i had known so then i wouldnt have bothered writing anything out. I think its a fair point for me to make as the general consensous of people who are on here asking and telling about so called fake Uggs probably have no idea that they are just a style of boot not a brand.
