The cardy's are sheepskin lined so should still be as warm but don't know how waterproof they'd be. They'd be ok in a shower but doubt they'd be waterproof if you stepped in a puddle.

Can I just ask people who have UGG cardi: HOW PRACTICAL IS THE BOOTS? Would your feet be soaking wet if it rains? Will it keep you warm like the UGG classic short boots (which looks like water proof?) and finally, does the top of the cardi or other knitting part become loose (like all other knitwear) after wearing it for a while.

Would be very grateful for any replies.

    Thanks.

As far as I am aware, neither the Ugg Cardi nor the Classic are waterproof.

The Cardi just have a sheepskin insole but the Classic have sheepskin shafts as well as soles. Therefore, I would've thought the Classic would keep your feet warmer.

I think I read that the Cardi was released as a 'summer boot' for warmer weather.

Need a get OH an UGG boots as a surprised gift. She mentioned cardi the other day but also saying that it's not waterproof and the knitting may not be also to keep her feet warm.

Classic boots are not waterproof, if you go out in heavy rain, wet grass or anywhere with puddles they will resist for a short while then they start to absorb the water, the toe area gets really wet where water creeps into the seam where it meets the sole, once this happens the water and dirt actually gets into the sheepskin and leaves staining, a darker looking area which does not come off. I have worn boots out in wet weather several times and the toes of my socks have ended up wet, my feet have been uncomfortable and the boots get quite heavy, the boots take several days to dry as you cannot put them near heat.

I cant answer for cardis as I have never bought a pair but they should be the same for warmth as the lining is the same, I would think again they would resist showers but not very wet weather.

In short they are not practical for wet weather, they are great for cold dry days and can take the odd shower (as long as they are sprayed with protector), they are very warm and very comfy but if you want boots for rainy conditions then a pair of funky wellies or waterproof boots would be more practical. Well, I have ordered my Birch boots from Cloggs for my 'early Xmas present' - I think they are boys boots but having just trashed my classics this morning while clearing the garden I figure I need something more sturdy and the others I can wear around the house. I hope they are just as warm and cosy as the classics though while being a bit more practical.

It is the most I've ever spent on a pair boots but I have been procrastinating over them long enough. And I upgraded to 1 working day for delivery. I am excited already. Think I'll be getting up VERY early to walk the dog before hubby goes to work so that I do not miss the postie. LOL. Happy Xmas to me.

What kind of irritates me is that I pay £100 on a pair of boots (yes, kids sizes for me) and someone else has bought an identical pair from the market for £15. I just cannot find it in myself to buy the fakes as I know that the quality would be nowhere as good as the authentic ones. I hope no-one thinks I have dodgy fakes on my feet!!

As we all love comfy boots here - does anyone else have a good pair of wellies or walking boots they can recommend to me (they have to be kids sizes though). They are for walking the dog so they have got to be comfy and not slip on and off as this irritates the hell out of me and also keep the bottom of my trousers dry. I've never found a decent pair of fitting wellies.

Am unable to check them yet due to being at work!

However, I thought they were coming from Australia, so why have they come from China?
