  • Not UGG boots, but I got a pair of UGG Australia loafers from John Lewis in the current sale - half price reduced to £45 in beige and black. I love them! Will be perfect for that 'too warm for the boots' weather. They also had the flip flop type sandals reduced to £45 although they started out at less originally.
  • i have bought a pair of uggs basil sandals from uggbootsdirect.com and paid by Paypal to a certain EVERDUDECOM. I received an email from Paypal confirming the payment and another from sales(at)uggbootsdirect.com confirming the order and with a code to track the package, but now the site doesn't work. Was i scammed? i really think so.

is there any way to get my money back if i was scammed?
  • Hi, i personally am not a fan of UGG's, even though my daughter has a pair because i admit they are very very comfy and last ages (might just get a pair for winter if its really cold, but i'll prob go for the kiwi ones or something) - also the resale on ebay allows you to recoup a decent price after she has outgrown them.

And i haven't read the last few pages (read about 20 pages in the middle somewhere and had to post.)

UGGs ARE actually made in China, this has been for the last few years, i think there are one maybe two styles that are still made in New Zealand so anything bought as new stock nowadays that says made in Australia will 99.9% be a fake (unless the place is selling old stock of course which is a bit unlikely due to the demand). Also a good place to check is the sole of the boot - the markings should be neat and the whole sole one peice, not with obvious breaks. Apparently any pair sent with a dust bag is a sign of a fake, even if they are brilliant fakes, the box is also another way but you'll have to do a google search on this as i can't remember what the rights and wrongs are at the mo. Also check the Ugg Australia sign at the back, in 'Australia' the letters should be short and fat and spaced out. There are some very good guides on ebay with some photos if anyone needs help.

Anyway good luck with bargain UGG hunting! (personally if you are really bothered with authenticity i'd buy from the UggAustralia online store even if it means paying a bit more - at least your mind and tootsies will be at peace knowing you have the real deal).

  • Also apparently alot of online stores or ebay sellers do actually believe they are selling genuine UGGs even if they aren't due to the lies they are fed by their suppliers. Genuine Ugg distributors are supposed to have signed a contract to state that they will not sell on ebay so anyone selling quite a few sounds dodgy straight away as they would have had to buy them from a genuine supplier and then resell which leaves very little or no margin for profit but loss instead, - it simply doesn't make sense. I'd advise to stear well well clear of ebay - the only way you can expect to see a real pair is if someone is selling an unwanted or used pair, even then you will have to go through the trouble of determining if they appear real or fake by asking many questions and requesting photos.

    Good luck anywho! x

I am the only one to think these boots are awful ? My daughter came over from Australia recently and was amazed that anyone wears them here cause no one does in Oz.
  • Hi everyone

Just wanted to warn you NOT to shop at www ugg-onsale com

I bought a pair of UGG Classic Tall for £58.73. What did I expect I do not know. Silly really. Anyway, the parcel arrived yesterday and yes, what an utter rubbish it was!!! FAKE was written all over it! They ship from China which is not a problem of course. However, the lining is a piece of synthetic fur (( needless to say how disappointed and angry I was. Expressed my disgust in writing straight away, but no reply from the seller obviously! Trying to get my money back through my C/card company and hope to sucseed. There are loads of websites like that around, they all use the official UGG Australia logo to confuse us. So be careful.
I can not afford to pay £150 or so, so I'll keep looking and maybe one day I'll find a real bargain.
