How much does it cost BT to install a telephone cable across the countryside?

Is there a price per km that they pay to install their poles and cables? I'm sure that there is a massive difference between overground and underground cables. I'm sure there is also a massive difference between what they pay and what they charge individuals to set have such lines installed privately.
Anyone know of a nice spreadsheet online with such information?

I would imagine there isn't a fixed cost for this. Things like the type of terrain, obstacles, negotiating with the land owners etc will all affect the price.0

I understand they do a survey in each case before pricing so each is bespokeEx forum ambassador

BT Openreach "excess construction charges" are, eg
per telephone pole £550
new ductwork, carriageway £82 (presumably per metre)
moleploughing £25 (ditto)
The first £3400 of work are exempted from charge for the provision of the first phone line to a site.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -

And that is 'excess charges'. They are on top of the standard charges. They are not fixed either, as Browntoa said they will carry out a survey first. When Excess Construction is required, a survey will be carried out and charges will be individually assessed based upon the following rates. These charges are in addition to the standard connection charges which apply for the applicable service.0

Sure would...what is the mobile reception like? What sort of internet speeds do you get on the mobile network. There are other options if the speed is good enough. You can install a 3G router with an external aerial to improve the signal then you can install a wireless VOIP phone in your house which operates over the internet connecting to your router with a landline number attached to it so people can call you at landline rates. Providers such as Vonage offer competitive plans.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

My concern (and the reason for this thread) is about possibly ending a wayleave agreement and the cost to BT / Openreach / the customers beyond our land if I was to do so. I really don't want to annoy my neighbours; however, if Openreach could find a better route that didn't cross our land then I would be delighted!0
