Hiya all.
We were in a branch of Lidl yesterday and our bill came to just under £40. The guy at the till asked us if we had the new Lidl smarter shopper card. We told him we did, then he told us that if we spent £40 we'd get £8 off. A pack of chewing gum took us over, so the discount was applied.
Staff in shops can get a bit of stick for attitude these days so I just thought I'd mention it  .

aldi seem to hold the edge on value these last few months and if lidl can knock £5 off a £25 sale then it seems im correct0

They're only in Scotland at the moment (I think it's a trial?) with an offer every week until the end of October. Ours came through the door with the usual Farmfoods leaflets etc!0 -

I have an Aldi ten minutes walk away so its kindof become my 'corner shop' what with the 10 oclock closing hours now. I do like Lidl for a change, but do find it a little more expensive than Aldi and doesn't stock so much of the stuff I buy.
But I am known in Aldi now lol., and once, when out of extreme tiredness I left some shopping in the trolley when pushing the trolley back into the trolley park and not noticing (had quite a bit of stuff), I went back, explained what had happened and asked if the bag had been handed in. They told me that if the bag had been handed in, someone would have just put the shopping back on the aisle and to just get the shopping again, and not pay for it. I was totally stunned., but told the manager that it was ok, but it was my stupidity so I was happy to pay for the shopping again (wasn't much). Sometimes I wonder how they make any money lol. But yes, it has increased my loyalty to them.0
