If you are unhappy over the blocking of your account I would be), you should raise a formal complaint - http://www.hsbc.co.uk/1/2/contact-us/complaints. If they aren't being formally told that customers are unhappy/outraged, they might think we think it's alright for them to willy-nilly block access to our money.0

I would look for compensation in the form of a switching bonus from another bank :AJust off the phone with customer service. They've informed me the block has been lifted & I won't face any charges for using my credit card.

You need to speak to a 'Customer Advocate', who will call after you fill out the on-line form, or an initial person takes your details.
