                    Hi all,
As the title suggests I am looking to book somewhere away for 7/10 days with my wife at the start/middle of November and we are ideally looking for as much sun as possible (and lazing around as we need a break!).
I think the Caribbean is out of our budget to be honest, so looking at possible Egypt or Canary Islands. Does anyone know which will be hotter out of these, or possible suggest any other locations which will provide sun?
Cheers

Both Egypt and the Canary Islands would, as you have suggested, make suitable options for what you are looking for.
Another, option would be the Gambia.
For the past two years we have been down to Egypt for a week in the middle of November. Similar to you just looking for sun, heat and to laze around. Temperature wise we have both times found it perfect, ranging from 27-32 degrees in the day. The sun tends to set around 6.00pm-6.30pm and cool winds can reduce the temperature significantly in the evenings, especially if staying outside.
Price wise I would think Egypt will probably give the best value. We stayed both times a 5* AI for around £520 pp which included flights and transfers.0 -
that sounds perfect - we love the heat so the hotter the better!
I will have a look at the Gambia now - seen a few places there, but never really saw it as an option so will price it up and read up on what i can!0 -
I was going to suggest Goa but it's a long way east for less than a fortnight. At least with Africa there's no jetlag.
Tanzania (specifically Zanzibar) would be another option. There have been security issues in the past but I'm not up to date with that so you'd need to check.
South Africa would be another option and I'd have thought that it would be sunny enough.0 -
The weather in Egypt is perfect in November. Goldilocks time not too hot not too cold! Evenings can be cool in the breeze though.
I don't think the Canaries are so reliable.0 -
thanks all - looking like Egypt is the best of the bunch for weather / price reasons - I like the look of Gambia but seems to be a bit more expensive than Egypt.
Will now get researching which hotel is the best of the lot in Sharm!0 -
Take a look at Hurgarda as well as Sharm.0

There's also Cape Verde but Egypt is definitely the most affordable.0
