Anyone know of a good priced car hire company or any discount codes for hiring at Perpignan airport. The companies I have seen have big insurance xs or deposits or waivers also charge for extra drivers etc. By the time you add all the extras to the basic price it works out quite expensive. We have hired many times in Spain and they give all inclusive prices with no xs, deposit or charges for extra drivers, all at a good price, seems that France have a different system.
Any help much apprieciated
Thanks

As recommended in the Daily Telegraph Travel section, this insurance broker may save you money on the insurance charges once you have chosen your hire car company.

We have booked with Avis for a week in August - people carrier - £400 Don't know whether this is good or not............!

I agree with Clive90 with regard to wwwinsurance4carhire.com; they are to be recommended to anyone who is considering hiring a car on holiday, and all the more worthwhile if you hire more than once a year as you get an annual policy. I've used them for two years and the premium is money well spent for the peace of mind it brings.
With regard to car hire at Perpignan airport, the main companies such as Hertz, Europcar and Avis are represented there.
If you book car hire through the Ryanair website, they have a link with Hertz which is usually, but not always, the most competitive; it's worth getting quotes online from the other companies as one may be cheaper for smaller cars but not for bigger ones, for example.
If you are a member of the AA, by following a link on the AA website (once you have logged in using your membership number), you should get a very good deal with Europcar which is much cheaper than going to the main Europcar website (note: I hope this is still the case, as I didn't renew with the AA this year).
Thirdly, if you book with Avis and have a Tesco Clubcard, you can get Clubcard points on your booking (can also be credited retrospectively), and indeed, can use your Tesco Clubcard vouchers towards the car hire cost (£2.50 in vouchers gives you £10-worth of Clubcard Deals tokens).
Lastly, I have been told by those who know that's it's cheaper to fly to Girona (just over the border in Spain, and about an hour's drive to Perpignan), and to hire your car there!

Does anyone know of van hire at perpignan airport?
I can only find 'Sixt' at the train station.
Thanks!0 -
Don't know that airport, but I always advise visitors to get a bus/taxi to the nearest SuperU or HyperU to hire a car or van. It is very cheap.20€ a day all in for a clio a couple of weeks ago.0

You could also try holiday autos, auto europe and dozens of other consolidators - most give inclusive prices with a low or no excess, often cheaper than booking direct.0
