Boyfriend took extra contract out in my name..

Hi All,
I paid for a contract in my name for my ex partner so he could have a mobile phone.. (stupid I know, but I was young and stupid)
He amazingly defaulted on the original contract (I never knew as he changed the address to his!!) and also managed to take out a second contract in my name due him being 'full access user' on the account!! now this is filled with late payments...
My question is, where do I stand with 3? as they allowed him to take this second contract out in my name?! I never gave permission for them to do so? are they legally allowed to let him take it out because he was a authorized user on the account?
Thanks in advanced,

I guess it would depend on the terms of your contract with 3Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0

Who authorised this access?
Where is 3 at fault?0 -

I don't think anyone said Three WAS at fault. The lady appeared to be asking whom we thought was at fault, rather than apportioning blame herself.0 -

Three may be irresponsible for allowing him to have another with the record, but ultimately you should have checked (as the account holder) that the bill was being paid and he didn't have access.
Three are in no way to blame.💙💛 💔0 -
I agree with Stator and that you should check the terms and conditions of the contract and what rights an authorised person has to an account. If you no longer have a copy of the contract you can request one;(you could also ask for copies of the telephone transcripts from the call that allowed this extra access). All of this can be done with a Subject Access Request (a request under Data Protection) - it costs £10 and they have 40days to comply - https://www.nationaldebtline.org/EW/sampleletters/sole-letters/Pages/Personal-information-under-the-Data-Protection-Act-(sole-name)-.aspx
Depending on the information you gather you may be able to make a formal complaint regarding poor service or potentially fraudulent activity on the account or (if neither of these applies) then you may need to consider a payment plan to clear the debt.
Please be aware that only inaccurate information can be removed from your credit file.

Thank you for the replies, I have emailed three's CEO office and waiting for a response.0

I used to work for Three. Even people with full access weren't allowed to set up new contracts, or carry out upgrades. They could make enquiries, add and remove add-ons, change payment details, change tariff, and that kind of thing.0

You'd be much better off following the correct channels and Emailing their customer service department.
At best, the CEO's office will re-route the email to customer services. At worst, and most likely, it will simply be ignored.
It's like writing to the Prime Minister about the fact that you don't like your neighbours wallpaper.0
