Yes buy online, like I used to (but you do end up having to pay to have you eyes tested and may be without an optician in an emergency) however I managed to get Vision Express to price match (particularly nice Manager) what was Get Lenses...there is also a list on there to match own brands (Boots) to the brand name! I now pay £15 a month for Biofinity Toric Lenses (3 pairs every three months) which includes all my solution (Synigel), free replacement when one goes kaput as well as free check-ups/emergency appointments, money off spectacles and sunglasses.Sunshine0

I think they knew I was looking to get glasses elsewhere and this was some sort of deterrent. Thankfully I found my original documents. I got two pairs of glasses online for £120 when they wanted to charge me nearly £200 for one pair.
Why shouldn't they charge for a copy of your prescription? There is extra work involved for them to locate your records, complete the form and verify it before signing it.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

honestly, i only get my contacts from contactlenses.co.uk no proof of prescription is needed, so you avoid those unnecessary fees. I have never had a problem with them, i always get my orders on time and they have an automatic re-order system so i never have to worry about reordering every month. I buy the crystal monthlys and i have never had a bad experience! hope this helps:)
if anyone can post the link for me that would be helpful as i am only a new user.0 -
I would def take your prescription from your optician and buy elsewhere.
Terrible they tried to charge you !
One thing I would say though, is don't buy cheap when it comes to your eyes.
Off experience its worth paying an extra few quid for a reputable brand than an online store's own brand.
Just my two pence!0 -

Any company that will supply lenses without proof of prescription should be avoided at all cost. Not only are they breaking the law but are showing no concern for your eyes, just their own profit.0 -
I pay less for mine at Asda than the cheapest on line and in addition, I get free on-going care with an optometrist. Of course, it helps to have an Asda close by!0

I agree with you, I've never found an online supplier to beat Asda and they'll let me buy a single month at a time, which many other retailers won't. However, I suspect that that may only apply to my particular brand.0
