Has anyone installed any soundproofing against the internal adjoining wall on their semi?

Have you seen the You tube videos?
I knew someone who did this on his adjoining wall in a first floor maisonette, not sure how it worked as he had a chimney breast which causes noise to travel.
He used some sort of soundproof plaster boarding? but he did work for a builders merchant so maybe you could ask them if they know what to use.
Sorry not much help but if you are having problems with noise nuisance I can sympathise with you.0
