Samsung TV Black lines

Hi,

I have a Samsung TV, about 5 years old that has developed a black line/bar down the right hand side of the screen. It is on all channels of the tv, including when I use my Xbox.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what is causing it, how I can fix it, and how much this would cost.

It is a Samsumg , LE37A656A1F

Thanks, Yes I tried that but was still a black bar on the tv when I finished doing both of these things

Yes I have hdmi cable from tv to bt youview box, and component cables from tv to Xbox.

The screen control boards probably have a fault. It will most likely be easier and cheaper to buy a new TV. Repairing older LCD televisions is rarely cost effective.

I feared that might be the case, would just be nice (to my wallet especially) to be able to fix it.

Not sure back then but most TV's now have 5 year warranties might be worth checking?

I dont have any of the paperwork for it, and having thought about it after you said that I think it is more like 6 or 7 years since we bought it
