Carpet talk, Penthouse and Manx

Hi all
I am currently looking for some carpets for my new house. After two weeks of researching, I managed to finalise a few carpets that I really like. I have asked the shops for a sample and now I have got them all with me. After a closer look on these samples, I have discovered the backing of the Penthouse sample is exactly the same as the Manx one. I therefore just wonder if any of you know whether these two companies are the same company or sister companies or so.
The price difference between these two companies (based on the samples that I like) is £6.50 per sq m. I will need 80sqm here, it's over £500 different between these two.
In terms of the feel and the quality, I cannot tell the different at all, but when I was in the shop, the sales guy kept telling me the Manx carpets were no good. I obviously can see he was trying to sell me something more expensive. But I just wanted to double check if the sales guy was talking poo or not.
Anyway suggestion, advise or recommendation is much appreciated as always.
Many thanks in advance! :rotfl:

Bump on this topic...I love the Manx Coastline striped carpet and was thinking about this and other complimentary carpets from their Natural collections...
Anyone have Manx Carpets in their homes?0
