  • Morning all,

The Sun is popping his head out this morning. Two lots of washing done and pegged out. Beef & veg in the slow cooker for dinner tonight.
DH has hurt his back so I don't suppose he will be wanting to do much today.

Has anyone on here made 'rice' from cauliflower. Thought I'd give it a go. Do you just bung it in the food processor? cook it?

    Have a good day all.

    Morning everyone.

I wrote a post at half seven but obviously didn't press the correct button! It was rainy and murky then but brightened up since then.

Yesterday I got a load done in the garden, even planting the blackcurrant bush and repairing the scabby patches in the lawn. The car only got the alloys cleaned thoroughly for the first time in ages, mucky job that was.

I forgot that I wanted to go to the Dalmally agricultural show yesterday but it's just as well really. I'd only have bought a load of stuff and after the Oz trip and the new windows spending needs reined in now.

After I wrote / lost the earlier post I nodded off again and have just woken up. Must have needed the extra sleep. Still don't know what'll happen today. Not going shopping, not doing any washing and not doing any housework (apart from tidying things off the spare room bed).

    Happy Sunday everyone.

Yes. Bung it (minus very stallky bits) into the food processor till it looks like rice/couscous. Put in a microwave bowl with cling film on top. Pierce cling film. About 5 mins.
rMy husband ate it without noticing it wasn't rice until I asked him how he liked the cauliflower and he said - there isn't any :D

    Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o
  • Good afternoon everyone. Had a busy day so far. Two loads of washing pegged out and nearly dry. Decluttered the cutlery draw and had a quick tidy round in the kitchen. Tidied out my sewing box a job I have been meaning to do for ages. Dinner out of already cooked fridge supplies and the kids had HM pizza with some dough and topping I defrosted overnight.

Off to do some ironing now.
  • Good afternoon everyone,

Well what a difference today is to yesterday. I was cold all of yesterday, but today is sunshine and blue skies.

I am all on my own this afternoon, DD has gone to a friend's house, we dropped her off this morning, DS made his own way to work, then DH and I went to Maidstone as I bought a top in M&S that I wanted to take back, so I did that and bought a blouse. I still have some money left on my giftcard.

DH and I came home and had some lunch, just pasta salad and he has now gone off to do a couple of appointments, so probably won't see him until late this evening. Not sure when the children will be back, probably early evening.

I have a load of washing that has dried on the line, so will bring that in and iron it. I am going to make a loaf of bread and some biscuits and cake as well for the week.

I hope everyone has a good day. hugging.gif hugs to everyone.
Thinking of you and DH TA, hope he is feeling well today.
BB thank you for the link to the magazine yesterday, it was very interesting reading.

  • We went down to the village show after lunch. OH won a first prize with a photograph and I got a second. The biggest surprise was my quilt I put in came fist in the class and won the overall cup for the handicraft section, it also won the best exhibit in show!! We won £2.50 and I also have 2 silver cups on the dresser in the hall.

I was gob smacked, had to look at it a couple of times to make sure I was not seeing things.

It has turned into a nice day sun shining and warm but with a nice breeze, it was warm in the marquee even though they had both door open. There were quite a lot of entries and some really nice things. The produce was being actioned at the end of the show. We did not wait for that I needed to get home and sort out the supper.

Didn't want to read and run - Congratulations Csarina! How wonderful to read. I can imagine how chuffed you (both) are.

Hope you get to keep the cups!

I've made a gluten free lemon cake using mashed potato, and it was fine. I know it sounds a bit unlikely, but it does work out.
