Nearly there!!

I've just had an omg moment and realised I have almost paid off everything! I've just made a £2,000 payment to my MBNA card which has left it at £1,751.60 left to pay. I am waiting on 2 PPI settlement cheques totalling £5,500 which will almost wipe out my Lloyds one, I will have also freed up nearly £900 in monthly payments servicing these debts so with this and 1k in savings it should only be a few more months before I'm debt free!
I would never have thought this was possible at the start of the year and has only been made possible by finding out I was ineligible for PPI, I've had a huge amount of loan and credit card debt over the years so the amounts I've had back have enabled me to wipe out nearly £20,000 worth of debt since June!!
I'm so happy as I can finally look forward without it hanging over my head and look forward to buying a new house :j

To be honest I feel like I've cheated a bit with getting most of it back from PPI payments. Hopefully I will be able to change my spending habits and not just fall back into it but with £900 available to me each month that used to be debt payments I'm hoping that I will be ok!0

that of course is the next trick,staying debt free,maybe set yourself a serious savings target?0

I'm going to set a target as we are saving a deposit to move house, my house is so small and we really need more space, it's a big motivator!
Fingers crossed I will be able to do it!0 -
Nice one, Dolly..and saving for the new house is deffo the best thing to keep you on the straight and narrow!LBM-November 2019 - Total Debt £28,000/PAID!0

You can do it, its a great feeling being debt free, and seeing a savings account build up gets very addictive......or is that just me. We have just made an offer for a house as we have saved the deposit and at the start of the year I thought that wouldnt be possible...Total Credit Used...=........£9,000 / £52,700
Mortgage..............=........£138,000 , 20 Years left.
:starmod:CC cashback for this year..=........£112.88 £205.81 banked in 2015

It really is an amazing feeling I also love seeing savings grow but that's half my problem I horde the money I have and spend on credit card instead, it sounds completely daft and I know it make no sense I just don't like spending my savings as I like seeing it there!
I'm getting impatient waiting for the offer letters to turn up tho, I just want to get it paid off against these cards now that I know I'm getting it!0
