Travel systems are they worth it?

I find mine very very useful. for example - nipping to the supermarket for a few bits, baby falls asleep on the way, just lift the seat onto the pram, done
no messing around getting the pram seat out and taking them out of the seat. also you say about being able to carry in the car seat but you know what they are HEAVY! especially with baby inside, once they get past 3-4 months. I've hurt my back attempting to carry my daughter in the car seat.

I hardly ever have used the carset on my travel systems, I use a carry cot untill they can sit unaided then they go into a seat (by time they can sit unaided they want to be able to have a look around.) carseats arnt very good for babies backs really, and I always think babiok so uncomfortable huddled up in car seats. my first carrycot was able to be strapped into the car too which was cool (I dont drive so never used it strapped in but my mum drives us around sometimes so I still need a carseat)
personally im not bothered by the car seat, plus some adaptors fit other car seats in, best bet is to google the make of the pushchair adaptors and put the carseat make and see if they are compatible0 -
I absolutely loved the travel system I had for my daughter. I was originally going for the M&P Ultima like the previous poster but ended up with the iCandy Apple Special Edition. Cost well over £1k but was worth every penny.
Not sure if they are still around but I managed to get an M&P Pro-Sleep car seat that once clipped to the pram base could lie flat.0 -
I loved it, but only for the car seat and wheels. As a pram, I found it too bulky so would opt against a full system.
And DD1 definitely spent more than an hour in it whenever we went out. She had reflux so screamed when flat; the car seat was her pram for months (medically agreeable.) It was the most comfortable/top rated one available at the time.
I would never spend £1000 on something like this though; that's obscene.0 -
We went for the Joie Aire Plus buggy and carseat combo. Lightweight but sturdy, easy attachment of car seat, nice and compact. Buggy seat folds flat so can be used from newborn age. The only downside is that you can't have wee one facing you when lying down like you would with a carrycot, although the carseat faces backwards.
Best of all it was on offer in Toys R Us: £80 for the buggy and car seat, and another £80 for the isofix base.0 -
We bought the mothercare xpedior for £250
probably the best £250 we have ever spent in our lives. It is fantastic0 -

We have the same. The wheel snapped off the other week so I'm a bit wary of its build quality now. Mothercare wanted to send it away for repair, I argued that a wheel shouldn't just snap off a pram with a baby in it and they replaced the base there and then.
Looking back I wouldn't have bought this, I would go for an umbrella fold pram so I could at least fit it in my nissan micra!0
