I just did, and got a vibrating thing of an entirely different sort. Hope that wasn't intended to be a joke!
  • We have an LG washing machine that has caused a lot of inconvenience due to vibrations. Since we got it I've seen a specific recommendation that people shouldn't buy a related direct drive machine if they have a suspended wooden floor. With hindsight I would probably agree with that.
We had to install special rubber cups to help with levelling the machine but it didn't stop the vibrations. Later we put in a vibration damping mat - now two thicknesses totalling an inch, and a wooden board glued on top. This has damped the worst vibrations but made the machine rock a bit and possibly because of this it now sometimes moves on its board. Although the machine is now almost perfectly level, the board is not (because the floor isn't). It seems particularly bad when the loads are small or a bit unbalanced, even when the spin speed is quite low, and I've just mounted retaining battens to try and stop it moving. The machine itself is quite heavy so you wouldn't think the load weight would matter much.
Sometimes you make mistakes, but it would be nice to have the information before you buy!

W bought a set of rubber feet - made a huge difference and the machine doesn't shake the whole house anymore!
