MSE Credit Card Eligibitlity Calculator check showing on Credit File

I have used a few Credit Card Elibility calcualator a few times over the last month on MSE and it was a great tool in finding a competitive balance transfer card.

However, on checking my credit card report last month there appeared to be three inquiries made by Barclaycard on my credit report on dates that coincided with using the MSE credit card eligibility calculator. Has anyone else had this?

I have phoned both Equifax and Barclaycard who seemingly cannot provide me with any further information so I am now writing to Barclaycard Customer relations.

Any feedback much appreciated!

Soft searches that show on your file are not seen by other lenders - only by you.

You could save yourself a lot of time and trouble by simply reading the T&Cs and FAQs of the eligibility checker on this site...something you perhaps should have done before using it? :)
  • Can you advise me on what to do if the eligibility checker can't find me! I moved house 4 months ago, Experien have all my up to date details, Equifax hadn't updated my electoral roll but have now, bit the checker still can't find me. I then stupidly applied for Virgin money card today and was declined, I'm sure it's due to this electoral business. How else can I sort it?
