Yesterday afternoon I had to drop my grandson and his girfriend off at the terminal building so they could catch their flight to Budapest..No idea until I had arrived at the drop-off point that to get back onto the road back home I would be held up by highway robbers. As you pull away from the drop off you are confronted by sets of barriers which you have to pay £2.50 to get through before you can continue on your way home again. And apparantly if you over stay the drop off by 10 minutes you have to pay 10p a minute .I had to fork out £2.50 just to be able to go home again I wasn't parking I was there barely a minute just to let my two youngsters out to go on their way.I think its disgusting to treat people this way.You might as well hold a gun to their heads :mad::mad::mad: God Know what Taxi drivers have to do

Try dropping off outside the drop off point - £100, kerching! Now that's highway robbery!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Only if you're dumb enough to pay!

  • Same at Newcastle Airport, ANPR read your plate as you drive in. £1 for first 10 minutes at the barrier on the way out.

This I understand, I was a cab driver for 22 years until I retired in 1995 .It would just get attached to the passengers fare. I think its extortion all the same

You didn't notice the other 2 or 3 signs that start at the roundabout that say fee payable then? Especially the one that is readable while still on the approach roundabout that says 'No exit without payment'
